MAKE A DONATION

Thank you to everyone for their time, talent and generous contributions to the mission of the Thomas Jefferson Community Land Trust during last week’s Time Machine Telethon. Many of our local artists, performers and entrepreneurs shared their stories and talents over an entertaining twelve hours. Five families will become homeowners in the historic 10th & Page neighborhood, secure with ground leases that protect 90+ years of homeownership affordability. Thank you for helping to make this event a fantastic success #affordablehousing #homeownership

How it Works

What is a Community Land Trust?

Homeowner

Owns the home

Maintains an interest in the land through a renewable ground lease

Retains earned equity and a portion of the market appreciation upon sale

Community Land Trust

Owns the land

Enters a 90-year renewable ground lease with the homeowner that details the responsibilities of both parties

Controls the resale value of the home to ensure affordability into perpetuity

Community Benefits

Stabilizes families and neighborhoods

Creates permanently affordable assets in the community

Is an efficient use of grant and donor funds (one-time investment)
